The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will likely launch early next year and most of the details have already been leaked online. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to get major upgrades in several areas, including camera, chipset, display and more. The new Samsung flagship phones are expected to be announced sometime around February. The Galaxy S23 series was unveiled around the same time last year and so, we may get to see the new ones at the same period next year. While there are still a few months left for the Galaxy S24 launch, here is a look at leaked specifications of the Ultra model.

The leaks have highlighted that Samsung is planning to ditch curved displays in favour of flat screens. Ever since the launch introduction of Ultra series with the Galaxy S20, Samsung has always offered a curved panel. The next generation would be the first to feature a different design, as per the leaks.

Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) posted an image showing that the device will still have a bit of phablet design and the bezels on the display could remain the same as the 2023 model. We could also see a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout on the front of a selfie camera. The company is also said to offer support for higher peak brightness compared to last year's 1750nits screen. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is tipped to have 2500nits of panel. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will reportedly sport a 6.78-inch display with 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution.

Earlier reports indicate that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a massive upgrade in terms of telephoto lens. The back camera setup is said to now include a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom capability. In comparison, the current Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a 10-megapixel telephoto camera featuring the same 3x optical zoom functionality. If these leaked details hold true, it suggests that Samsung's next flagship phone might deliver superior image quality when zooming in on subjects.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will likely use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is yet to be released. The chip is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, so that most of the 2024 flagship phones could feature it. If the rumour mill is to be believed, the new 5G phones from Samsung could have titanium frames, which would be a departure from the aluminum chassis seen on the previous models.

Since this is one of the top flagship offerings from the company, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will likely be an expensive smartphone. The leaks haven't hinted at the price details, but we expect Samsung may increase the price by a few thousand rupees if we go by previous events. It could also decide to offer the upcoming 5G premium phone at the same price because there was a big price gap between the last two years' models. It remains to be seen how Samsung will price its next offering to attract customers.

To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was announced in India for Rs 1,24,999. The Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra were made available for Rs 1,09,999 and Rs 1,05,999, respectively.
